About Me

Screen Shot 2022-05-05 at 7.51.58 PMI am a coach that is interested in every aspect of the game. I currently work as the U17 Head Coach for Houston Dynamo FC in the MLS. I am completing my UEFA A/Elite Youth A License.

Starting in 2015 I worked as the First-Team Performance Analyst for Columbus Crew SC under USMNT Head Coach Gregg Berhalter where I was responsible for Tactical Analysis of Columbus Crew SC as well as Opponent Scouting. I joined this MLS First-Team technical staff at the age of 20.

Before joining Columbus, I worked as a volunteer assistant coach and video analyst for the University of North Georgia’s men’s soccer team in addition to many years of coaching at the youth and high school levels. I have worked with every level of player from recreational to the national team, both male and female.

Starting in 2017 I have worked with USMNT players on an individual basis in order to improve the players’ tactical development. Through training drills, analysis, and videos I improve the players’ positioning, body position, scanning (before, during, and after the action), decision-making, and execution. Everything comes from what a player sees and thinks, therefore everything is done to improve the individual perception and decision-making.

From 2017 to 2020 I worked in roles such as the associate head coach at Flowery Branch High School, the head coach and head of the video department at United Futbol Academy, and as a coach on the Georgia Olympic Development Program staff.

In January 2020 I joined the Atlanta United FC Academy as an assistant coach and video analyst – from there I moved to working with the 1st team and then moved into a role overseeing the USL and Academy. Some of my responsibilities included assisting in creating, preparing, and delivering training sessions. I also provided tactics and strategy for game-plans against upcoming opponents, analyzed our matches, model, and trainings both qualitatively and quantitatively. Finally, I helped create, feedback, and improve the academy’s game model and principles of play.

In August 2021 I joined the Houston Dynamo FC Academy as the head coach of the U17 team. I oversee all on and off-field development of the players. The style of play of the team is a patient, positional approach to the offensive phase combined with a high pressing, high intensity approach to the defensive phase. In the Generation Adidas Cup of 2021-2022, the group made the Round of 16 before losing to eventual finalists Tigres UANL 3:2. In the MLS NEXT Frontier Division of 2021-2022, the group finished 2nd in a table competing with Austin FC, FC Dallas, Colorado Rapids, and Sporting Kansas City – putting us in Pot 1 for the MLS Playoff Qualifiers. The team was made up largely of younger players (07′ and 06′), 5 of which we were able send to the United States and Mexican Youth National Teams, along with pushing players higher into the MLS NEXT PRO (Dynamo 2) and the 1st team.
